Key changes in IIFT 2018 paper Pattern

  • The number of sections in  2018 has increased to six from earlier four
  • The Verbal Ability and Reading comprehension in the revised IIFT paper pattern have now become separate sections. Now the RC questions and English usage (Verbal Ability) questions do not compensate each other.
  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning are also separate sections. Candidates cannot attempt and compensate DI questions to LR questions.
  • Number of questions is reduced to 114 in 2018 exam pattern from earlier 123. There are no fixed number of questions in IIFT entrance test, their number may go anywhere in the range of 114 to 130. IIFT 2017 had 114 questions, IIFT 2016 had 123 questions while IIFT 2015 had 124 questions in MCQ format.
  • Maximum overall marks in Paper Pattern are 100. A penalty of 1/3rd marks will be awarded for every wrong answer. The candidates therefore have to be careful to avoid this negative marking by choosing the answer options with well calculated thought process.
